Security Forces Arrest Several Suspected Terrorists

State security arrested on Wednesday a Syrian member of the al-Qaida-linked al-Nusra Front on suspicion of participating in the battles against the Lebanese army, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said Salah al-Dik was apprehended by state security members in the Bekaa Valley's north.

He is suspected of participating in the clashes with Lebanese troops in the northeastern border town of Arsal in August, it added.

LBCI TV said the army also arrested Syrian Ayad Mohammed Stouf on suspicion of having ties with the armed groups entrenched on the Lebanese-Syrian border in Arsal's outskirts.

Another man, which LBCI identified as Khalil Braidi, was apprehended for taking part in the attacks on the army during the Arsal gunbattles.

During the August clashes, fighters from the Islamic State group and al-Nusra Front held Lebanese servicemen hostage in a cross-border raid on Arsal.

The militants have already killed four of their captives.
