An artificial pond collapsed in a town in the district of Jbeil on Wednesday, causing material damages, the state-run National News Agency and the village's municipal chief said.
NNA said the accident triggered a landslide that blocked Akoura's main road and caused damages to crops.
The head of municipality, Simon Merheb, said the mud and water caused more than 2 million dollars of damages.
Akoura, which lies 1,220 meters above sea level, is known for its apple trees.
In March, at least two people were wounded in a landslide triggered by heavy rain in the town of Hasroun in the northern Bsharri district.
The landslide was caused by the collapse of a pond in the hilly town.
