Raad: Hizbullah 'Optimistic' about Chances of Agreeing on New Law

Loyalty to the Resistance Parliamentary bloc MP Mohammed Raad said there were many reasons to be optimistic about prospects to agree on a new electoral law, mainly that discussions focus on a full proportional representation vote law format, the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.

“There are many reasons to be optimistic, especially looking at the fact that most discussions revolve around a full-proportionality electoral formula,” said Raad.

The MP expressed hope that Lebanon would stand out of the prevailing stage with minimal losses.

"We hope Lebanon witnesses political stability that will eventually kick start its economy," the lawmaker said in the wake of a visit to former Prime Minister Salim el-Hoss.

Raad also called for a close follow up on the regional developments that might bear positive or negative repercussions on Lebanon's future.
