Parliament Convenes to Tackle, Approve 2018 Budget
Lawmakers convened in a Parliament session on Wednesday dedicated to discussing and approving the 2018 state budget.
Speaker Nabih Berri has called for two consecutive sessions, Wednesday and Thursday, for budget discussions.
Before the session began, Speaker Nabih Berri held separates talks with Prime Minister Saad Harri and Chairman of the Parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee Ibrahim Kanaan.
Kanaan had announced on Tuesday that the committee has approved the budget and referred to the Parliament.
He assured in a statement that the state is serious about combating the waste of public money.
