Hariri to 'Propose Line-Up', Berri to Tackle 'Two Ministers Hurdle'
Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri’s return to Beirut will boost the political contacts aimed at expediting the formation of the new government, MP Qassem Hashem said on Monday.
Speaker Nabih Berri “has a solution and ideas to resolve the two Christian ministers obstacle,” Hashem, who is close to Berri, told al-Jadeed TV in a phone interview.
“Hariri has some ideas and a draft line-up that he will raise with Speaker Berri and will later be discussed with the President,” Hashem added.
“When the contacts make progress, there should be a tripartite meeting in Baabda,” the lawmaker went on to say.
Al-Jadeed later reported that Hariri would not present a draft line-up to Berri and his visit was only aimed at “discussing ideas and means to resolve the governmental hurdles.”
