Hizbullah deputy chief Sheikh Naim Qassem on Thursday noted that "abidance by the Constitution and the Taef Accord is the logical solution during this period."
He stressed that his party supports the implementation of the Taef Accord as well as national partnership.
Hizbullah supports the "people-army-Resistance formula," Qassem said, stressing the need to "keep Lebanon away from foreign hegemony, preserve civil peace and reject submission to the conspiracy of the (Special) Tribunal" for Lebanon.
"Based on this need, we sought to designate a premier who would be capable of embarking on these missions and adopting these policies," Hizbullah number two said, noting that Najib Miqati's designation for the premiership happened "according to the constitutional course and the MPs' free choice."
"Miqati's designation is a political choice for a crucial period, and it is apt to prevent the monopolization of power, enhance stability and create new opportunities for addressing the people's social and economic needs," Qassem noted.
He stressed that the upcoming government "will be for entire Lebanon, whether everyone took part or not," rejecting the notion that Miqati's government would be "sectarian or factional."
"The government will be totally political, it won't be sectarian or factional, and it will be a political government for clear political choices," Qassem clarified.
On the other hand, Qassem accused the rival March 14 camp of "holding onto the STL in order to strike Hizbullah, the same as the Americans and Israelis are holding onto the STL to strike Hizbullah as well."
