When will Salam visit the South again?

Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Wednesday affirmed that "reconstruction is a national priority for the entire government," during a meeting with a delegation from the Association of the Sons of the Southern Border Towns.

Salam explained that "the government has finalized a list of infrastructure and basic services projects in the southern regions" and that they will be ready to commence "as soon as the anticipated funding is secured, particularly from the World Bank."

He also announced that he will make another visit to the South once these projects begin, hoping that "this will be as soon as possible." He stated: "The government is not only waiting for the external loan, but is also continuing its own efforts through projects implemented by the relevant ministries."

Salam concluded by affirming that he "will study with the relevant ministries the list of demands that he received from the delegation, especially those related to the families who are still forcibly displaced from their villages," stressing "the government's keenness to ensure their dignified return as soon as possible."
