Hariri says al-Mustaqbal to adhere to father's 'moderation logic' as powers shift
Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri has affirmed that al-Mustaqbal Movement is entering a new phase aimed at reaffirming the path of late PM Rafik Hariri — "one of moderation and dedication to establishing stability in the nation".
Hariri stressed that prosperity in any region of Lebanon will benefit all Lebanese people, regardless of where they are.
"This country is suffering intensely from assassinations, wars, killings, and political vacuums at various levels. However, today, fundamental changes have occurred at both the local and regional levels; therefore, it is essential to adhere to the logic of moderation, which serves as the nation’s lifeline," he told visitors on Tuesday evening.
On Saturday, Hariri hinted that his al-Mustaqbal Movement might take part in the upcoming parliamentary elections while stressing that its political role has not ended, at a mass rally in Beirut's Martyrs Square marking the 21st anniversary of the assassination of ex-PM Rafik Hariri.
"I promise you, whenever the elections are held, I promise you: they will hear our voices, and they will count our votes!" he vowed.
