Israeli strike near Beirut suburbs reportedly kills three Hezbollah members

An Israeli airstrike on a residential building near Beirut's southern suburbs killed at least three Hezbollah members on Monday, a security source told AFP.

The strike "targeted an office used by Hezbollah, killing three members and seriously wounding three others" in a residential building in al-Rihab on the edges of Dahieh. The region has not been evacuated and several people were injured.

An AFP photographer said the targeted apartment is located in a neighborhood crowded with shops and commercial establishments, several of which were damaged, adding that armed Hezbollah members set up a security cordon following the strike.

The health ministry said the strike killed one person and wounded 17 others -- 10 Lebanese citizens, a Kenyan woman and 6 Syrians, including children.

Earlier on Monday, a strike hit Musharrafieh, after Israel issued a warning for people in the region to leave.

Beirut's southern suburbs have been largely deserted since Israel began frequent attacks against it in early March.

The Israeli army said it launched a wave of strikes targeting "Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut".
