Israeli strikes targeted Monday Tebnine, Dweir, Majdal Selem, Harouf and Deir al-Zahrani in south Lebanon, after a midnight strike on an apartment in Baalbek killed an Islamic Jihad commander and his 17-year-old daughter.
Israeli artillery also shelled al-Mansouri, Halta, Kfarshouba, Yater, Deir Ames, and Smaiyeh in the south, while Israeli troops detonated houses in the border town of Khiam, in the Israeli-declared "yellow zone".
Later in the day, the Israeli military ordered the residents of Harouf, Burj Shmali and Debaal to evacuate ahead of strikes.
