Israeli strike targets car in Kfartebnit, killing two
An Israeli drone strike in south Lebanon killed two people on Thursday, hours after the United States and Iran signed an agreement to end the Middle East war, including in Lebanon.
The strike targeted a car in Kfartebnit, near the Israeli-declared 'yellow line'.
"An enemy drone targeted a car" in the Kfartebnit region, killing two people, the official National News Agency (NNA) reported. Another strike targeted the southern town of Haddatha.
Israel's military meanwhile announced the death of one of its soldiers the night before during an incident in south Lebanon that also left seven other troops wounded.
Since Iran and the U.S. announced they had reached an agreement on Monday, there has been a sharp decrease in the level of violence in Lebanon.
Since the agreement was announced, Hezbollah has not claimed responsibility for any new attacks against Israel.
Still, there have been limited exchanges of fire, and Israeli strikes on the south have killed at least six people since then.
Israel has not officially commented on the US-Iran agreement.
Israel's army said one soldier was killed and 7 soldiers were wounded on Wednesday "as a result of an explosive drone impact in southern Lebanon".
The Israeli military also said its air force intercepted "several rockets" launched toward soldiers operating in south Lebanon, without reporting casualties.
