Berri 'relieved' after meeting Aoun in Baabda
President Joseph Aoun met Wednesday with Speaker Nabih Berri at the Baabda Palace, where they discussed “the general situation both locally and regionally, as well as the situation in southern Lebanon in light of the ongoing Israeli attacks on villages and towns, particularly the bombing and bulldozing of homes, and the need to halt these hostile practices,” the Presidency said.
Aoun briefed Berri on the results of his visit to the United States and the talks he held with U.S. officials, including President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Upon leaving the palace, Berri stated that the discussions covered the president's visit to Washington and the situation in southern Lebanon, and that, “as always, he was relieved after the meeting.”
