The British Embassy Beirut has announced that applications for the UK Government’s flagship Chevening Scholarships program to study in the UK are now open.
Prospective candidates should submit their applications via chevening.org/apply by 6 October 2026. Lebanese citizens (and Palestinians residing in Lebanon) are eligible to apply under the Lebanon scheme in any subject area.
The program offers fully funded master’s degrees at UK universities to individuals ready to join a global network of future leaders, equipped with world-class knowledge, UK connections, and shared values, to address global challenges and drive sustainable development in their communities and beyond.
Lebanon is also recipient of the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies (OCIS) Chevening Fellowship. It offers mid-career academics and professionals the opportunity to undertake five months of independent research at the University of Oxford, focusing on Islam, Muslim societies, and their role in a global context. Applications open on 11 August until 6 October 2026.
The Scholarship scheme for Lebanon has two local partnerships:
For the sixth year, The Chevening-Siren Associates Scholarship will offer one scholarship to a Lebanese national (or Palestinian national who would be normally resident in Lebanon) to pursue a master’s in: Governance, International Development, Human Rights or Public Financial Management/Administration at one of the UK’s top 20 universities.
For the third year, The Chevening-Raffy Manoukian Scholarship will offer up to three scholarships to a Lebanese (or Palestinian national residing in Lebanon) individual to pursue a master’s in: Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, STEM and similar topics at one of the UK’s top 10 universities.
In addition to The Chevening-Rebecca Dykes Scholarship which has been offered by the British Embassy in Beirut since 2017, offering one scholarship to a woman pursuing a master’s in areas related to Gender Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, Development and Human Rights and Refugee and Migration Studies or similar fields. The candidate is chosen by the British Embassy when awarded the Chevening scholarship.
