What will Aoun discuss in Rome?
President Joseph Aoun will travel to Rome on Thursday on an official visit, the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper reported.
The negotiations with Israel and the security situation will be tackled in Aoun’s meeting with Pope Leo in the Vatican, the daily said.
The president will also discuss with Italy’s president and prime minister the issue of negotiations, the disarmament verification committee, and the French-Italian proposal for establishing a force that would replace UNIFIL, after Italy was strongly nominated for leading the verification panel.
