Aoun from Greece: Framework deal must be implemented fully and bilaterally

President Joseph Aoun arrived Monday in Athens for an official visit to meet with his Greek counterpart, President Konstantinos Tasoulas, at the Presidential Mansion, in efforts to secure international backing to a framework agreement with Israel and an end to hostilities in south Lebanon.

Speaking from Greece, President Aoun stated that the U.S.-sponsored framework deal should be implemented fully and bilaterally, rather than selectively or unilaterally.

"The Lebanese people are tired of wars, and it is time for them to rest," Aoun told Tasoulas, arguing that "diplomacy is the best of solutions".

Aoun thanked the Greek President for his support and urged him to help Lebanon implement the framework deal.

"The framework deal should be implemented in full by both sides, without selectivity," he said.
