Report: Exams Results of 32 ISF Officers Manipulated

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces manipulated the results of the psychiatric exams for the officer recruits, al-Akhbar newspaper reported on Friday.

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel proposed, according to the daily, to cancel the round of exams, which aims at recruiting 75 officers at the ISF, but sources close to the general director denied any fraud in the results.

The manipulation is considered a punitive offense.

According to al-Akhbar, a dispute occurred between ISF chief Maj. Gen. Ashraf Rifi and commander of the Embassies Security Unit Mahmoud Ibrahim, who argued that the results of the psychiatric exams for several candidates were manipulated.

Ibrahim presented two copies for several candidates with different grades, accusing Rifi of manipulating the results of the copy that was at the ISF directorate.

Sources told al-Akhbar that the exam results of 32 candidates were manipulated.

A security source slammed Charbel’s decision to cancel the round, saying that the directorate could depend on the results of the copies that weren’t manipulated in order to choose the passing candidates.

Sources close to Rifi denied the incident.

“The official results of the exams haven’t been announced yet,” the sources said.
