The Internal Security Forces issued an order on Saturday to ban motorcycles from the northern city of Tripoli.
The decision includes registered and illegal vehicles.
The administrative decision was taken by the head of the North district Nassif Qaloush.
In addition, the ISF announced that it has set up fixed and mobile checkpoints throughout the city.
Tripoli has witnessed clashes in recent weeks between the rival neighborhoods of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen that have left at least 13 dead and 50 wounded.
Tensions have persisted in the areas that witnessed clashes with a hand grenade being tossed Saturday morning at the Baal al-Darawish area.
On Friday, one person was killed and two others were wounded as exchange of gunfire renewed between the rival neighborhoods.
