Geagea: Main Problem of Illegitimate Arms Will Remain Whether New Government is Formed or Not

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea noted on Monday that the main problem of the illegitimate arms will remain in Lebanon whether a new government is formed or not.

He told the Central News Agency: “There is a major flaw in the country that should be rectified.”

“Whoever is waiting the formation of the new government is definitely not awaiting its economic plan because the March 8 camp’s only goal is confronting imperialism and all who do not agree with its policies,” he added.

“The March 14 camp is waging its battle in the best possible way through openly presenting the problem in the country,” he said.

Geagea stated: “The fact that the problem was proposed out in the open cerates a new dynamic that would lead us to eventually achieve our goal, similar to how the Maronite Bishops council’s call in 2000 highlighted the problem of Syria’s presence in Lebanon.”

The LF leader also predicted that the developments in the Arab world will positively impact the internal Lebanese scene.
