Syrian Robs Lebanese Taxi Driver but Leaves Behind his ID

A Lebanese taxi driver filed a complaint with police in the coastal town of Jbeil, north of Beirut, against two Syrian passengers who robbed him at dawn Thursday. But one of them forgot his ID in the car.

Mohammed Qabbani told the Internal Security Forces that two Syrians asked him for a ride to the area of al-Barbara near Jbeil, the state-run National News Agency reported.

But when they reached their destination, one of the passengers who was sitting at the back seat put a knife to Qabbani's neck and snatched his iPhone in addition to LL250,000, NNA said.

The robbers also took his ID and other personal documents in addition to the keys to his Mercedes.

But one of them left behind his wallet with his ID inside. Police identified him as Mohammed Teb al-Rouh.
