المعلم في مذكرة إلى منصور: نتمنى أن يضبط الجيش اللبناني الحدود حماية للإستقرار

طلبت دمشق من لبنان الخميس أن يضبط الجيش اللبناني الحدود "بما يضمن الأمن والإستقرار" للبنان، وذلك بعد قصف سوري الأربعاء على بلدة عرسال الحدودية,
و اعلن وزير الخارجية والمغتربين في حكومة تصريف الأعمال عدنان منصور الخميس أنه "تلقى بعد ظهر اليوم من نائب رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية والمغتربين السوري وليد المعلم، مذكرة تتناول اوضاع الحدود بين البلدين".
وأشار المعلم في مذكرته بحسب منصور "الى الاتفاقيات الامنية الموقعة بينهما وحرص سوريا على امن لبنان، وشدد على اهمية قيام الجيش اللبناني بضبط الحدود بما يضمن الامن والاستقرار".
اضاف منصور: "وتمنى المعلم على السلطات اللبنانية بذل كل الجهود الممكنة لاتخاذ الاجراءات الضرورية التي تعزز السعي المشترك للبلدين والشعبين الشقيقين، في اطار الحرص المتبادل على احترام سيادة واراضي الدولتين".
ويأتي البيان بعدما قصفت طائرة حربية سورية بلدة عرسال صباح الأربعاء ما اضطر الجيش اللبناني إلى إصدار بيان هدد فيه للمرة الأولى بـ"الرد الفوري" على مصادر النيران، فيما هدد رئيس الجمهورية ميشال سليمان برفع شكوى إلى الدول العربية.
ولاقى القصف إدانة دولية خصوصا من الولايات المتحدة الأميركية التي اعتبرت الأمر "استفزازا غير مقبول".
بدورة قال الجيش السوري ليل الأربعاء أن القصف أتى ردا على "إرهابيين فروا إلى عرسال" مجددا "احترام سيادة لبنان".

This is the first time I agree with Muallem. The Lebanese army should control the border and prevent Hizb terrorists from crossing the borders. I am however with two minds: should the army prevent them from crossing into Syria or from coming back?

Actually @haile.selassie, beg to differ you as your statement is not true. It would be if the army was able to control HA as well as other Sunni fighters from executing violent acts across the border. Given that the army is all but incapable of controlling Hizbollah then the above statement is rendered untrue and unworkable.
