Government Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr charged on Thursday eight people including a Lebanese with funding and belonging to a terrorist group.

According to the state-run National News Agency, three out of the eight suspects are detained and one of them is a Lebanese national.

The NNA said that the remaining are Syrian nationals.

They are all charged with belonging to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and funding the organization.

Jihadists from the Islamic State group and al-Nusra Front attacked Lebanese security forces in Arsal on the Syrian border in northeastern Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Military Examining Magistrate Judge Fadi Sawan questioned Syrian national Ahmed Mohammed al-Mohammed, who is in custody.

Al-Mohammed is charged with belonging to ISIL and insulting one of the soldiers executed by militants via Facebook.

Jihadists withdrew after the August clashes into the mountains around Arsal after a ceasefire, but took with them several soldiers and policemen as hostages.

The extremists later executed three of them and threatened to kill more if the Lebanese authorities failed to meet their demands, including the release of Islamists jailed in Roumieh.
