Sharkas Threatens to Retaliate Arrest of Family, Suspends Negotiations over Arsal Captives

Jihadist Anas Sharkas, aka Abu Ali al-Shishani, threatened to start kidnapping the wives and children of soldiers until the Lebanese authorities release his spouse and two kids, announcing the suspension of negotiations in the case of the abducted servicemen.

“Negotiations will not continue until the Muslim women are freed from the prisons of infidels,” Sharkas reportedly said in a 13-minute YouTube video.

He stressed that the Qatari-appointed negotiator, Ahmed al-Khatib, is not welcomed on the outskirts of the northeastern border town of Arsal.

It is unclear if Sharkas is a prominent leader in the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant or al-Qaida-affiliate al-Nusra Front.

Al-Shishani vowed to retaliate the arrest of his wife and two children, saying: “I will act soon, me and all my supporters to capture the wives and kids of raafidah and soldiers.... until my wife, kids and the women of Muslims are released from the prisons of infidels.”

Sharkas, who had his face uncovered in the video, was surrounded by masked gunmen.

He stressed that the abducted soldiers and policemen will not be released without negotiations and his family will not be part of any deal.

“My message is for the Qatari mediator: If you can't resolve the matter, then you are not welcomed and I will not allow you to head to the outskirts.”

Sharkas also held Muslim Scholars Committee chief Sheikh Salem al-Rafehi responsible for his family's arrest.

The Lebanese soldiers and policemen were taken captive in August when militants from the extremist Islamic State group and al-Nusra Front infiltrated Arsal from Syria and engaged in bloody clashes with troops. Three of them have been so far executed.

Media reports said that Lebanon now has the upper hand in the negotiations with the jihadists after the Lebanese army arrested Saja al-Dulaimi, a divorcee of IS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and the family of Sharkas.

The government has been under intense pressure from the families of the captured men to negotiate their release.

As Safir newspaper reported on Friday the arrest of Alaa al-Oqaili, the wife of Sharkas, her brother Rakan and her two kids confused extremists.

Oqaili, who was arrested two months after her surveillance, reportedly communicates with her husband and other gunmen through Skype.

She was apprehended along with her brother Rakan in the Zgharta area of Hilan in northern Lebanon at a public school hosting Syrian refugees.

As Safir reported that Sharkas contacted a prominent Muslim Scholars official, threatening to retaliate if any harm was inflicted on his family.

You killed and kidnapped our soldiers, therefore your family is fair game. Our LAF didn't start this fight but have no doubt Mr. Sharkas they WILL finish it.

indeed, they grabbed the tiger by the tail and boasting, now they're crying like little babies because they're getting a taste of their own medicine :)

We tell this little terrorist, your wife is with us (Lebanese) and will not take care of her unless you give your self up with the captives back.

Vicious cycle of kidnapping and counter kidnappings will lead to no-where. Only serious negotiations will lead to the release of the soldiers. The kidnappers demands are clear and quantified. This government has to make a decision whether it will negotiate and exchange or not. It has been 4 months now and a solution has to be found.

The rebels need to execute a couple of soldiers and show they are serious. You kidnap their women and children, they will kidnap women and children. The only language this hizbullah government understands,.

The prisons of Infidels, see it is not only the Resistance, but all non takfiri, is an infidel to them. Yet we still have the naive people here, sympathizing with takfiris, and basically stabs the LAF in the back.

You have to choose, there is no other way. You want the takfiris destroyed, then stop spitting on the ones whom resist. Be it in, Lebanon, Syria and elsewhere.

Wallahi ya Dawleh, stop the charade ba2a! Hand over the terrorist prisoners in our jails to the families of our soldiers, 30 for one of our boys, then let these sobs talk again. Leave the families of our soldiers do as they please even if they wished, feed them rats, who cares! Wlak khalass, stop wasting our time. Days ago, one of our soldiers could not even recognize his parents, does anyone have any illusions as to the state of their captivity? Give us the wanted prisoners and let us deal with them in our own old ways. Euft!!

The Lebanese must understand that when a Lebanese is caught and kept in Syrian jails, any jail, that Lebanese is given the very worst treatment ever. Some Lebanese who were lucky enough to escape from Syrian jails will explain to you the harrowing horrors they endure, imagine masalan a prisoner who was kept for years on solitary confinement and under the VERY worst ever conditions, befriended a Roach, yes, that's right a roach and could not live without its company. So does anyone of you still has any doubts as to how our soldiers are being kept? Why should their people in our jails receive any decent treatment? Why should we procrastinate forever? Our soldiers must be living sheer hell every second of their detention, give us their people and let us deal with them the same way they deal with our people, period!!

Try staying at a takfiri Jail phoenix, you would not last long there. To them we are all kaffirs, as much as you want to stay close under the U.S and Israelis wing, and hate Syrians and Iranians. Then you will not get far, because the Americans doesn't give a damn about the Christians, and Israel aswell. They mostly used the christians for their own benefits, and you still, let yourself be carried on with them.

You hate General Aoun, but he along with Marada Frangieh, are the few Christian leaders knows the Americans true intentions. Now you will say, you are only Lebanese and so forth, Phoenix you know very well what I mean. Do not deny it atleast

"Try staying at a takfiri Jail phoenix, you would not last long there." = have you ever tried syrian jails , the ones of your master bashar?

"You hate General Aoun, but he along with Marada Frangieh, are the few Christian leaders knows the Americans true intentions." = that is why aoun asked many times the help of the americans, even stating there was no shame in asking their help... double standards i presume....

and your beloved americans never wanted to oust bashar, just like your hezbis militia...guess it makes you allies, but it horrifies you to assume it....

Thumb Mystic 05 December 2014, 12:41

America did all they could to oust Assad, they almost smeared him with the chemical weapons attack, which was ofcourse committed by the takfiris.

Now when they finally realized, their plans had failed. The U.S bends over, and realized. The Axis of Resistance are not that easily broken.

Thumb -phoenix1 05 December 2014, 12:58

Mystic, you are one poster whom I very much enjoy debating with you. I am not lavishing on you my praises, but between you and me, we've always been mature enough to keep things,....mature, right? OK, now this being the case, why do you keep rhyming and grinding on my head this Christian, Amreekan business? Wallah you're giving me a headache now. I kept firmly on Lebanese grounds when I spoke of Syrian jails, and FYI, the Syrians do not discern between our religions, for them if we are in their prisons, it means the samo samo bandwagon for all. Please ya Mystic, The Phoenix is Lebanese and I have taken such position for a very long time, please man, read my posts well, I am LEBANESE above everything.

Missing peace 05 December 2014, 13:00

if the USA really wanted to oust bashar he d be long gone , like Saddam or kaddhaffi! ya naive miss tic... keep your propaganda for your meetings in dahiye...

Thumb -phoenix1 05 December 2014, 13:04

Mystic, you said and I quote: "America did all they could to oust Assad, they almost smeared him with the chemical weapons attack, which was ofcourse committed by the takfiris" unquote. But Hafez Al Assad also did everything to serve and please the Amreekans. We have in our books, the 1st Gulf war, when in fact Syrian joined the allied forces against Saddam Hussein, thereafter the Amreekans rewarded the Syrians with Lebanon for years as they "Chasse-Gardee". Hafez Assad was for the US their broom-master, he was used as their broom in this region, then when Syria's role was deemed not so crucial, they just shoved it aside, that simple. Bashar should have been smarter not to fall in the same hole the Amreekans dug for Saddam. We all thought that the Syrians were smarter, but they turned out to be as dumb as the rest of the Arab Leaders. Power goes too easily up their brains and it makes them drunk.

Thumb Mystic 05 December 2014, 13:37

Phoenix, you tend to forget that Hezbollah, also had clashes with the Syrian army, back in the civil war. Do not forget whom the Syrians came to safe in the first place, that was you people, begging the Syrians to interfeer against the Palestinians.

Now we live in a different time, you still live in the 80's the rest of us lives now. Takfirism is a new scourge, I do not think you've been keeping up lately.

LAF soldiers dies so fast, and we still hear people blame the Resistance, the army is getting tired and relentless. They need to have the go ahead, to fight back. But the M14 keeps their hands tied as usual.

Thumb Mystic 05 December 2014, 13:39

Had it not been for the Resistance sacrifices, then the LAF would've had more than dozens of casualties each day, the resistance are the ones holding the takfiris back in Syria, while we have people stabbing them in the back in Lebanon.

Missing peace 05 December 2014, 13:52

does Saddam, Moubarrak ring any bell idiot? but keep defending your pimp bashar traitor FT and spit on the martyrs that fell under the assads in Lebanon....

Thumb Mystic 05 December 2014, 13:55

I did not support the U.S invasion, in neither Iraq or Libya. Even though they were both considered enemy leaders, Saddam and Gadaffi, I always knew that the priority enemy is the U.S/Israel and their takfiri minions they have now.

Missing peace 05 December 2014, 13:58

so miss tic: it proves you that when the USA want to oust a dictator they can.... but bashar is too precious to them to secure the golan for israel!!!!!

Thumb Mystic 05 December 2014, 14:12

Saddam, and Gadaffi were easy to remove, the U.S are well aware of their failure, to seize Syria. Now the takfiris they themselves created, are turning against them. Then they started the "bombing campaign" Not when the ISIS overran Mosul and Raqqa, but when the takfiris started attacking kurds, and taking U.S oilfields.

Ofcourse a takfiri sympathizer such as you piss, will never accept the true origin of your heroes existence. You were created by the U.S to topple the government in Syria, just like the Taliban was created by the CIA against the Soviets.

Exactly the same example, that the takfiris in Syria failed so far, are the prove that, the Syrian people themselves wants to keep Assad, and go back to the way things were.
