Israeli Military Official Says New Security Plan Aims to Counter Hizbullah Threat

The head of the Israeli army's planning directorate has said the military will formulate in the coming months a new security plan to counter Hizbullah's growing arsenal.

In any future war, Hizbullah’s rockets will be “much more precise, (possess) much larger warheads” than Israel has seen in the past, The Jerusalem Post quoted Maj. Gen. Nimrod Shefer as saying at a diplomatic conference.

To address these threats, Shefler said the Israeli army - in conjunction with newly appointed chief of staff Gadi Eisenkot - will spend the next six months formulating a new security plan.

“We must find a way to develop the right tools Israel needs. I hope, in the next sixth months – with a new chief of staff – (Israel will have) a good opportunity for us to present a (security) plan for the next five years or maybe decade,” he said.

In 2006, Hizbullah fought the Jewish State's far more advanced forces and rained more than 4,000 rockets on northern Israel.

But Israel killed 1,200 people in Lebanon, most of them civilians, according to the United Nations. Hizbullah killed 160 Israelis, most of them soldiers within Lebanese territory.

If you are serious about HA's threat and are not actually allied with it, you would have not let this terror party arm itself to the teeth and become such a threat. Israel and HA need each other to justify their objectives.

Exactly what Israel wants - Israel becomes a stronger State while Lebanon becomes a stronger Militia (weaker State). Fits Israel and Iran interests very well.

Eagledawn has been designated by His Excellency Generalissimo-Patriarch al Rahi as God's Vicar/Deputy/Security Section/Subject Races/Personnel and Administration, and, as such, your remarks have probably violated Section XIII, Subsection 23.3, Paragraph B, of the Maintenance of the Church's Dignity Statute under Lebanese law and you are therefore facing a harrowing judicial inquiry if we can arrange the Paris hotel reservations. You will need to pay your own way.

Nasrallah told Bogdanov: “You can tell the Israelis that Lebanon’s southern borders are the safest place in the world because all of our attention is focused on what is happening in Syria, Hezbollah does not harbor any intention of taking any action against Israel.” May 23, 2013
