Nasrallah Snaps Back at Rivals: Hizbullah Continues to Back Aoun Candidacyإقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية
Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reiterated that his ally Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun remains a strong candidate for the presidency.
“We will continue to back his candidacy,” Nasrallah, whose remarks were released by the party's press office Wednesday, said at the launching of a new university.
“There is no change in our stance” regarding Aoun, he said.
During a speech last Friday, Nasrallah described Aoun as a “mandatory pathway” for the presidential elections.
Such a statement prompted his rivals to claim that Hizbullah is no longer keen on Aoun’s candidacy.
But the Hizbullah secretary-general reiterated in his speech at the launching of the university on Tuesday that the words “mandatory pathway” do not mean Aoun is no longer a candidate.
“They just want to explain things” as they like, he said about his rivals in the March 14 alliance.
Lebanon has been without a president since May last year when the term of Michel Suleiman ended with MPs unable to find a successor.
Sharp differences between the March 8 and 14 alliances left Baabda Palace vacant over their inability to agree on a consensual candidate.
Akid ya Sayed. March 14 have their own way of making up Hollywood stories in their politics, that's what keeps them going.
is that a pathetic mantra you keep repeating because you have nothing else to say?
I respect Mr. Nassrallah for his patriotic stances and Mr. Mowaten for his trolling stances
@mowaten E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T. Still laughing since the day you declared with a straight face you were a shiaa atheist and also a member of hezbollah with only one account. I think i will also continue to laugh at your statement "is that a pathetic mantra you keep repeating because you have nothing else to say? ". Thank you Thank you
speaking of pathetic mantras... almawto li amreeka...labbayaka ya nasrullah lol
The day this evil sectarian terrorist is brutally murdered is the day we celebrate our independence.
But ya Mowaten, at least he hasn't changed anything whereas your lot keeps appearing under a million trolls and always thumbing us down and yours up, and this is without mentioning those horrid insults as well. Charity starts at home if you guys didn't know that yet.
Thank you Mr. Mystic for all the support and patriotism. You know I read all your comments and those of Mowaten and Southern. As to flamethrower and the_roar they are the heart and soul of our iranian resistance.
i can assure you on the tomb of my son hadi and on the integrity of zeynib and the conscience of imamu ali that we are here to protect lebanon and not the shias and we support Michel Aoun for President.
Yada yada yada, you need to disarm, surrender your military part into the Army and stay a political (sectarian?) party.
Your AKs and RPGs don't add any more attention to your yada.
"Obviously", FT, mowaten and I are the 3 most informative posters on naharnet by 3 country miles. No wonder we always occupy the VIP section of naharnet's top rated comments.
I wonder how you are and where you are dear flamethrower as you lay in pieces and total tranquility at your final resting place..... RIP Shia Hero.
Majority of Christians inside Lebanon backs Apun, they are the biggest Christian blog. He also speaks on behalf of the Christians suffering in the middle east.
That most of you guys live outside Lebanon cannot change that, Hariris party wants to take over, and the LF and Kataeb will be there to eat the leftovers.
"Hariris party wants to take over"
Listen to your propaganda!
With what is Hariri's party going to take over..? with their 100,000 rockets, their 50,000 sectarian armed militia, with their zilzal rockets and ayoub drones;)
Your propaganda is so cheap it cannot be exchanged in a chinese knock off market.
mystic, do you work?
If March 14 really stood by sovereignty and independence, then they would make a popular peoples voting system, instead of talking crap all day, let the people decide their future through ballot boxes.
Such as the Resistance and FPM suggested several times.
Christians do not back the Caporal because they see him as a dog to Ebola.
Mystic, if that would include all the Lebanese expats living abroad so they can make a decent living since all prospects for such work have been undermined by Hizb's actions in Lebanon (provoking the 2006 War, Campcity in Downtown, May 2008, the coup of bringing down the Hariri government while he wasn't even in Beirut to defend it, importing the Syrian War into Lebanon, etc.) - if all these people whom you've chased away off their land like the Israelis did to the Palestinians, if all these people can vote through the Lebanese Consulates of the respective countries they are now residing in, then sure, let the people vote directly.
Is that a fact? If you want to be part of the Lebanese society so much, then how come you are all living abroad, talking as if you knew what is happening.
How about the country being freed by the Resistance? I guess Southern Lebanon never meant mich to you people, the takfiris dragged Lebanon into the war and Israel too in 2006.
If you are so patriotic in March 14 then how come you always bow down to the enemies and make amends.
We remember clearly how March 14 behaved during 2006 and later in 2008.
@mowaten E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T. Still laughing since the day you declared with a straight face you were a shiaa atheist and also a member of hezbollah with only one account. I think i will also continue to laugh at your statement "the whole Lebanese people are hostage to Hariri and his gangs, sorry I mean companies ;) ". Thank you Thank you
Yes the majority support him just look at the hundreds of thousands that came out when he asked them to protest lol

excerpts from Aoun's interview with Robertson:
"General Aoun, delighted to have you with us on The 700 Club, welcome . Tell me about Hezbollah. We hear about the terrorist group Hezbollah. What relation do they have to Syria?
GENERAL AOUN: Hezbollah is not a separate entity from Syria. It is under the Syrian operational control.
ROBERTSON: The so-called terrorist group is under the operational control of Syria?
AOUN: Yes, 100 percent, no question about that.
@justin, aoun is a man of principles and his positions and stances never waiver ))
In politics, you keep the middle finger extended in your pocket.
are you in politics @saturn?
If Geagea is allied with PSP, it's because PSP changed their principles and are part of the Axis against Syria and Iran. Aoun didn't just ally himself with an old enemy, he basically opened his zipper, peed on the hundreds of soldiers and civilians who died for him during his 2 wars in the nineties, and then allied himself with his mortal enemy. And he didn't just do it gradually, where stances started converging; no. The motherfucker woke up one day in February 2006 and decided that the best way to get rich was to align himself with the Syria-Iran axis.
i see how you can be confused, but no, spanking you on a daily basis doesnt make you his boyfriend
mowaten, are you flamethrower's boyfriend?
March 14 alliance are not committed to the will of the people, but to their own pockets.
Hear hear Mystic, and what about Hezbollah controlling the port, the airport and in fact so much of Lebanon's economic bloodline, are they Caritative by any chance? Mystic. truly speaking, you've lost your reasoning, you are sounding more and more like a North Korean, one day we shall wake up to a new clarion call from you, Hassan Nasrallah is the oxygen that I breathe". Allah hi se3dak ya habib albi enet.
Ebola is an iranian army and Lebanon is under occupation and needs to be liberated.
I have been falsely accused of being zionist, takfiri, da3esh, saudi, wahhabi, and the whole lot. You know what? You have no reasoning, no logic, no arguments to explain why you welcome a stone age culture to rule over Lebanon.
Idiot answer. You confirm your stupid comments and never daring to face accusations against your backaged culture and objectives,
By your attitudes and comments You have destroyed National Unity and the will of living together. I definitely do not now wish to live with a backaged culture like yours.
Calling people around ebola does not exactly help national unity neither. I could not care less about your complaints humble, your whining is very common so is March 14s.
You destroyed National Unity long time before I landed on Naharnet...once more no reasoning, no arguments, no logic...ONLY DENIAL...there is a clear problem with the functionning of your brain
Ohhhh Mystic, if I was to check just how many names you've labelled people here, the word Ebola will drown in your hezbocrisy, never forget, charity begins at home, next time you want to play the blame game, don't forget. You've been instrumental at dividing this country, for God's sake this double standards of you people smells worse than our mountains of trash.
So if you back Aoun, go vote for him at Parliament. Is it really that complicated (if you really back Aoun)?
Fed up with the Istikbar of these people....fed up of their lying, cheating, dissimulating....fed up with witnessing how they destroy this country.
FPM want the presidency and Lo look at their cowardly thumbing activity here just now. Hezbollah wants Aoun as president, and Lo, look at its thumbing activity here. Shameful lot, shameful alliance, Aoun is allied to the man who said years ago that a Christian Canton will never happen, especially not in places like Jbeil where the Crusaders stole the land of the Shiites, signed Hassan Nasrallah. Tfadallou ya FPM.
When was the last time that a Christian party leader demanded a certain Sunni as Prime Minister, or demanded a certain Shiite as Speaker of Parliament? It doesn't happen, never has, these are intercommunal decisions. The President, as symbol of the entire nation is elected by all parties and represents all parties, but with at least a Christian consensus that does not exist and cannot be manufactured or intimidated into existence. Aoun is not a consensus Christian candidate, nor is Geagea. Geagea accepts this and says that he will give support to any Christian except himself or Aoun. Geagea has his mind, it works fine. Aoun does not.
Mmmm, for all of Aoun's rants about the erosion of "Christian power" in Lebanon and how he has completely paralyzed the what is left of the hold over government until "Christian power" is vindicated, this is an odd development. It is not the other Christian parties who have joined Aoun's call, but his patron, Hassan Nasrallah, the Shia. He, the Shia, demands that Aoun is the Way the Truth and the Light and that there is no other solution but the Aoun solution.
