Army Chief Marks 73rd Army Day, Affirms Preparedness to Confront Israel,Terrorism

Army Chief Gen. Joseph Aoun marked the 73rd anniversary of Army Day on Tuesday noting the army’s success in eliminating terrorists and arresting several militants in pre-emptive security operations, affirming the army’s “firm” doctrine in fighting the Israeli enemy and terrorism, the National News Agency reported.
“Significant results have been achieved through measures to control smuggling through a number of illegal crossings. The decision is clear to complete the work at an accelerated pace in order to support security and stability,” said Aoun in his Order of the Day addressing the troops.
Noting the regional crises, he said “the Arab region is witnessing intractable crises which will undoubtedly have repercussions on our country, so I call you to be more vigilant to maintain full readiness and ensure the unity of the homeland.”
He stressed that the army’s doctrine is “firm and will not change. It will always be directed at the Israeli enemy and terrorism which only serves Israel’s interests and goals.”

ما صحة توقيف ضابط بالجيش؟ القيادة توضح
صدر عن قيادة الجيش – مديرية التوجيه التوضيح الآتي:
أوردت إحدى الصحف المحلّية في عددها الصادر بتاريخ اليوم، مقالاً يتضمّن معلومات حول توقيف ضابط في الجيش.
توضح قيادة الجيش، أنّ الضابط المذكور في المقال قد أوقف بسبب تقاضيه رشوة، وأن باقي التهم المنسوبة إليه، والتي تتعلق بشطب أسماء مشتبه فيهم بالتعامل مع العدو الإسرائيلي، غير صحيحة.
كما تدعو القيادة المذكورة وسائل الإعلام إلى توخّي الدقة في تناول أية معلومات تتعلّق بالمؤسسة العسكرية، والعودة إليها للتثبّت من صحة هذه المعلومات قبل نشرها، ولحين صدور نتائج التحقيق.

Hezbollah ( Iran ) approves or vetoes the appointment of any high ranking officer in the Lebanese army and he is telling us about fighting terrorism. His fight of terrorism is selective and sectarian. A sunni sympathizing with the rebels in Syria is branded a terrorist and jailed while a shia fighting and killing Syrians is hailed a hero.
Enough with the double standards.

You could not defend the Lebanese against the Jaafar clan and prevent them from closing the airport; You could not defend the Lebanese citizen against the terror militia in May 2008; You could not defend the Lebanese citizen in Hadath from the sectarian Amal gangs a few months ago.
And you want us to believe you will confront the Israeli enemy. Keep your terror militia on a leash and Israel will not bother wasting a bullet on your valiant army.
