Bassil Says LF, Amal 'Colluding' at Expense of Port, Tayyouneh Victims
Free Patriotic Movement chief Jebran Bassil on Wednesday lashed out at the Lebanese Forces and the Amal Movement and accused them of “collusion.”
“When I talked about the collusion of the ‘Tayyouneh duo’, a major uproar happened,” Bassil tweeted.
“We saw this collusion on the streets over the blood of the people and we saw it in parliament over the electoral law and the rights of expats,” Bassil noted.
He added: “Tomorrow we will see it in parliament and in the judiciary over the victims of both the port and Tayyouneh.”
“No to burying the truth of the biggest explosion that Lebanon and the world have witnessed in return for securing the acquittal of the criminal,” Bassil went on to say, apparently suggesting that LF leader Samir Geagea was responsible for the Tayyouneh incidents.
Bassil’s remarks come after Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi proposed an initiative to resolve the standoff over the port investigations. According to media reports, the initiative calls for parliament to refer ex-PM Hassan Diab three ex-ministers to the Higher Council for the Trial of Presidents and Ministers and for Judge Tarek Bitar to continue his investigations without questioning politicians.

Not to defend ex-PM Diab, but Aoun and Diab got exactly the same memo from State Security regarding the dangers of the Nitrate at the port, yet Diab is being summoned and not Aoun. Aoun had been President and head of the Higher Defense Council for 4 years at the time of explosion.

It is about time Geagea takes some responsibility in his miserable life.
He was jailed for such a long time, that maybe he lost his memory.
Geagea wants to start wars he cannot win, just like he did in the 70s with Gemayel.
He thought Israel would stay in Lebanon to backup the LF, and they left him like garbage.
It is funny how his supporters calls him "Hakim" he never even finished is medical studies..

When is this midget going to disappear? His place should be in jail for stealing people's monies through the energy sector with his fishy deals on the side. Had it not been for him in this ministry, Lebanon would still have enjoyed financial might. I am sure when this guy is thrown in the garbage bin through the results of the elections, his place would certainly be in jail. After all, who needs such an ignorant dwarf.
