Haniyeh to visit Beirut, Ibrahim taking part in negotiations in Doha

Hamas political bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh will arrive in Beirut within days, following his visit Sunday to Iran and his meeting with its supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, media report said.

A highly informed source meanwhile told the Nidaa al-Watan newspaper that former General Security chief Abbas Ibrahim’s “presence in Qatar to take part in the ongoing negotiations over the prisoner swap file between Hamas and Israel is direct intervention by Hezbollah in this file.”

Hebzollah wants to “guarantee that Hamas’ leadership in exile will benefit from this essential file to achieve the highest possible gains,” the source added.

“Maj. Gen. Ibrahim, who is used to exchanging messages between Hezbollah and the Americans, especially over the maritime and land border files, is aided in his current mission by the fact that his friend (U.S. mediator) Amos Hochstein is involved in the negotiations over the supposed swap deal,” the source went on to say.

My god what the sacrifices this man is making! How much agony can one man take! And they say Haniyeh's not suffering with the Gazans! Poppycock and balderdash I say! Look at him leaving the luxury of luxuries in Qatar behind and Tehran's red carpet welcome and slumming it by coming to Lebanon. But how's he gonna cope? With no electricity, no water, hot or otherwise and lacking most of the five star amenities he's gotten accustomed to to. I guess some sacrifices are worth it when you are trusted with a message to hand deliver. I mean someone had to personally relay Khamenei's orders. After all who trusts the usual means of communications.
