Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun kicked off on Saturday a visit to the southern region of Jezzine where he stressed the importance of national unity and mutual coexistence.

He said: “We defend ourselves with national unity.”

He explained that these remarks are not directed to the FPM and its supporters, but to all the sides that seek good for Lebanon.

Aoun was greeted in Jezzine by popular receptions held by FPM, Hizbullah, and AMAL supporters and head of the Loyalty of the Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad.

“We may have political differences, but we cannot be disputed over issues that are central to Lebanon,” he added.

Commenting on the FPM Memorandum of Understanding with Hizbullah, Aoun remarked: “I gained national unity through this agreement.”

“National unity is our goal and we will not trade it with anything,” stressed the MP during his tour of Jezzine.

Auon rejected firing rockets from Lebanese territories, pointing out that the “occupation legalizes the arms of the resistance.”

He called on arming the military institution to enable it to confront the continues Israeli aggression.

Aoun warned against the postponement of the 2013 parliamentary elections, saying that there are two solutions either the electoral law adopted by the Orthodox Gathering or a law based on proportional representation.

The FPM leader stressed that the country is “robbed” as several officials have formed mafias.

“I have documents and investigations that will be published soon in a book... No one will be able to discredit us.”

He stated that the FPM had disputed with almost most MPs and Ministers because it is seeking to change and implement reforms in the country.

“The cabinet is facing several obstacles as it's not united” over several matters, Aoun added.

National unity to him = succumbing to arms that are outside state control and are more loyal to iranian mullahs and the baathist regime than they are to Lebanon. We call this treason and hypocrisy.

WRONG bub! You united with a group you used to call a terrorist organization that is under the Syrian operational control and that's how you also become under the Syrian operational control.

My patience with this idiot have worn thin. He keeps reciting nassrallah's speeches/ideology, sowing poison and brainwashing the sheep in his flock, he is also acting in contempt for every lebanese citizen thinking we cannot think for ourselves but rather rely on him to tell us how to.National unity was the m14 stance and now he is pedelling the same terminology they were using. he has realised is demise is near and is trying to re-create his image to the public. Then he goes on to tell us we are being invaded by Israel. Great marketing for the country.. thanks old man aoun..

If the Hezz start a war against Israel to support Iran......does this bring national unity? Then when Lebanon gets bombed by the Israelis is everyone supposed to rally around the Hezz and Aoun? There is no no unity in Lebanon for Persian affairs. The little ayatollah in Lebanon is wished dead by more than half of the people ya Aoun.

By the way, your comb over looks really thin.

never he is talking about the true issues that are much more important than his love with hezbis!
what about the enormous unemployement rate? 34% according to a study from the IMF! what are his propositions? what about the pollution affecting the health of lebanese? what about the none existant control of prices letting anyone ask what he wants? what about the soaring prices of real estate preventing lebanese to live in beirut?

all he is good at is pat hezbis on their shoulders lick their boots and insult others. but as far as politics is concerned : nada!

(oh! and for those who will come with a stupid argument about what is M14 doing, the same remarks go for them too...)
