Iran President Points to Chemical Weapons use in Syria

Iranian President Hassan Rowhani on Saturday pointed to the use of chemical weapons in Syria, three days they allegedly killed hundreds of people in attacks near Damascus.

Syria's main opposition group, the National Coalition, accused the government of "massacring" more than 1,300 people in chemical weapons attacks on Wednesday.

U.N. Chief Calls for 'Maximum Restraint' after Rockets Fired on Israel

The U.N. chief Friday condemned the firing of rockets against Israel, urging all sides to exercise "maximum restraint," and cooperate with the U.N. force in Lebanon to prevent an escalation.

Serra Contacts Lebanese, Israeli Army Commanders to Urge Restraint over Naameh Strike

The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon command announced on Friday that it had received Israeli confirmation that it had carried out an airstrike in the Naameh Valley between Beirut and Sidon.

It said in a statement that Force Commander Major General Paolo Serra had contacted the Lebanese and Israeli army chiefs to urge them to exercise restraint.

President Michel Suleiman tasked on Friday caretaker FM Adnan Mansour to file an urgent complaint to the U.N. Security Council against Israeli attack on Naameh.

The Israeli air force struck a Palestinian group in Lebanon on Friday, officials said, hours after a different organization said it fired four rockets at the Jewish state from Lebanon.

Snatched Gazan Starts Hunger Strike in Israel Prison

A Palestinian from Gaza who was snatched from Ukraine and is being held in an Israel prison has begun refusing food, a prison spokeswoman said on Thursday.

Dirar Abu Sisi "was on the third day of a hunger strike, following which all his personal items and electric appliances were removed from his cell, except for a fan," Israel Prison Service spokeswoman Sivan Weizman told Agence France Presse.

Fadlallah Does Not Condemn Rocket Attack on Israel, Denies Hizbullah Involvement
