Kuwaiti envoy, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah al-Mubarak al-Sabah who arrived in Beirut a day earlier, held talks with President Michel Aoun at the Presidential Palace, media reports said on Tuesday.
The Kuwaiti envoy, who is planned to hold talks with senior Lebanese figures, extended an invitation to Aoun to visit Kuwait on behalf of Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah, the reports added.

The suicide attack attempt that was foiled in Beirut's Hamra area over the weekend, is part of a strategic and decisive decision taken at the highest levels of the Army Command and the Directorate of Intelligence, to launch pre-emptive war on terrorists, prominent military sources told Ad Diyar daily on Monday.
The sources that spoke on condition of anonymity said: “The security forces endeavors in that regard are to launch a pre-emptive, relentless war on terrorists in order to uproot them and combat their menace.”

Leader of the National Liberal Party MP Dory Chamoun, urged Hizbullah and all other armed factions in Lebanon to surrender their arms to the Lebanese Armed Forces after their proven ability to protect the country following the Costa cafe incident, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Monday.
“Hizbullah and every faction outside legitimacy must surrender their weapons to the Lebanese army because it is has proven successful in protecting Lebanon. Confidence of the Lebanese in their army and its performance is mounting,” said Chamoun.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement justified the reasons that made President Michel Aoun warn he would use his constitutional powers to prevent the parliamentary elections shall political parties fail to agree on a new electoral law, assuring his keenness on Lebanon's stability and on the welfare of the presidential term, al-Akhbar daily reported on Monday.

A man wearing an explosive bomb belt was detained by authorities after entering the crowded cafe in Hamra, one of the capital's busiest areas, security sources told AFP.

A Democratic Gathering bloc delegation, of MP Walid Jumblat, visited Speaker Nabih Berri on Saturday where talks focused on the controversial election law that will govern the upcoming parliamentary polls, al-Joumhouria daily reported.
The bloc's visit is part of several it plans to pay to officials, the most recent was a meeting with President Michel Aoun who had earlier expressed support for a proportional representation system.

Lebanese national Saad Risha, 74, was released by his kidnappers on Saturday after a three-day abduction that mobilized the Lebanese army and officials in the country including President Michel Aoun who assured that the presidency was following up on the case.
Risha arrived early Saturday at his house in the Bekaa town of Qab Elias, accompanied by Speaker Nabih Berri's envoy Bassam Tleis. He was greeted by a crowd of family and friends, the National News Agency reported on Saturday.
