Lebanese Infant Beaten to Death

The parents of a 3-month-old baby girl were arrested by security forces on Friday after her battered body was brought to a hospital in Beirut, Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour said.

There were clear indications on Farah Mahmoud Abdulrazzak Hawana’s body that she was severely beaten, Abou Faour told Voice of Lebanon radio station (93.3).

Almost all bones in her body were fractured when she was brought to St. Therese hospital in Hadath, he said.

Her father, 25-year-old Mahmoud, and mother Maram Nabil Hazineh, 18, were arrested for questioning.

Prosecutor Saeed Mirza launched an investigation to know whether the cause of death was murder from an assault.

No. Three people dead is worse than one person dead. People call for death so quickly like children. It's pathetic.

they should be tortured in every single way.

Useless if they're masochist.

They are an example of why some people shouldn't breed

Technically true, but in practice where do you draw the line?

Thumb normzz 16 June 2012, 18:26

Mabe your right, but even if theres no justification for this in any sane mind, some people are mentaly ill "born" or became that way from lifes pressure,no1 to turn to,no government that helps people in harsh sittuations.believe me if that is the case in no way dose it justify child abuse spouse abuse or murder, but this people that do this things are not born this way and if they r,then they need help before committing such haynes crimes.

Nasrallah ause the death of a thousand Lebanese when he waged war against Israel. Not to mention billions of dollar in infrastructure. Should we kill a thousand person from nasrallah's family to make justice? Should sell the houses and lands of Shia families in order to get the billions of dollars we lost!?

Thumb primesuspect 14 June 2012, 15:36

Relevant? It's about morale you douche. Two wrongs don't make a right!

yes

Missing ramezg 14 June 2012, 16:22

Dud, regardless of whether I agree or disagree with you on your view of Nasrallah, this story is about a baby girl. Not Nasrallah. Do you actually find a link to the Hezb in everything you see and hear every day??? Or maybe do you think that Naharnet is exclusively a Hezbollah-bashing forum?

@FlameThrower, how does masturbation have anything to do with this story??? Focus, gentlemen, focus!

What if our biggest problem is mixing issues and getting entangled in the deep useless subjects? What if we concentrate on one solution at a time and admit that what happened to that baby is unacceptable and should be dealt with, most probably not by beating the parents, but at least psychiatric treatment and life in prison if they beat that poor infant. What if we stop using every single subject to deal with political issues and start looking at our everyday problems? What if we stop comparing the incomparable and start prioritizing, looking towards education and awareness? What if we just stop and think for 10 seconds before jotting some ideas of hatred that resonates in the minds of some weak souls? Maybe then will there be hope for our little (big), gorgeous country.

Thumb primesuspect 14 June 2012, 15:25

Perhaps we should also chop off your balls in order to prevent you from having mentally ill children like you? You're such a little Hitler.... And your solutions are immature.

Thumb benzona 14 June 2012, 19:10

FT wants to burn all Gay people, the 'Nawar'/gipsies and later on when the top priorities are done He'll want to burn all non shia. if You'd come more often and read his comments you'd know this by now. Come on Prime Suspect.

Default-user-icon Joseph (Guest) 14 June 2012, 15:40

Why is an 18 year old getting married and having children?? That's probably also part of the problem, lacking the maturity to deal with these situations.

I like how everyone here has assumed that the parents are immediately guilty. Let's wait for an investigation shall we? possibly a trial?

Maybe the kid was the son of satan?
Maybe it was the neighbor next door that sneaked in at night to shut the kid up?
Maybe the baby slipped from the mother's hands and fell down a flight of stairs?
just maybe...

I agree. An eye for an eye...

Are you a jew? the 'Talion' (sin 'b sin 3ayn 'b 3ayn) is their invention.....

Missing ramezg 14 June 2012, 20:12

@benzona, it is good to know that it's their "Talion" but we Lebanese lean this one as a proverb-talion hybrid at an early age. I learned it in 5ème :-)

Missing ulpianus 15 June 2012, 15:45

Turn the other cheek is something the christians "learn" but its rather symbolic.

Christian countries had the death penalty to very recently ( in the west)...

...and many christian countries ( Including "conservative" USA still has it)

Thumb thepatriot 14 June 2012, 16:34

Sadly, not all people value life the same way...this story is absolutely horrible.

Thumb benzona 14 June 2012, 19:14

I don't think he intended to kill the baby. they just wanted to inflict pain (or to keep it quiet)the the poor child. Because it would have been much easier the drown the infant in the bath tub incognito.

Thumb shab 14 June 2012, 20:19

It's probably domestic problems and desperation that led to this. These should receive training in parental behaviour. Or they belong to an assylum.

Default-user-icon Joe (Guest) 14 June 2012, 23:34

Some people these days just feel like killing a 3 MONTH old BABY? Walaw...? Haram. May God help them to not make bad choices like what is heard today and for others who do such things.

So sad that a story like that is completely ignored even worse used as a reason to open one of those zillion useless political debate! So saaaaaad! I have an eight month old i cant describe my feelings towards this horror!

Thumb jabal10452 15 June 2012, 14:21

My spontaneous reaction was "Kill them till they die :-)". But on an other thought, I aspire for a true civil society in this country and thus I would hope that the parents would undergo a thorough psychological evaluation. I they are determined insane they should be treated. If they are determined fit for trial then they should be tried and punished according to law..

The general situation in the country, specially the economic injustice part, is causing a lot of distress to many a family.sometimes people crack under pressure.

We have politicians who are preoccupied by other things than the welfare of the citizens. When are we going to throw them out, all of them, and start over?

Thumb normzz 16 June 2012, 18:15

The death penalty is not something i agree on,i am christian, and god brought us into this world and he will take us.plus them living with this tragedy while in jail or psychiatric hospital jail is the punishment.
