3 Syria-based Diplomats Left Damascus Via Beirut Airport

Three Ambassadors left Syria via Beirut's Rafik Hariri International Airport on Thursday, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported.

It said Romania's envoy traveled to Bucharest via Istanbul and Russia's diplomat headed to Moscow through a stopover at Dubai airport.

The Indian ambassador also headed to his home country via Dubai, NNA added.

Instead of flying in and out of the Damascus International Airport, top officials are driving overland from and to the Lebanese capital because of fighting near the Damascus airport.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says it has documented more than 45,000 deaths in violence since the uprising against President Bashar Assad erupted in March last year, but adds the real death toll could be as high as 100,000.

The rebels need to control every road, they need to intercept these diplomats that took too long to defect.

time is running out for the syrian regime and they understand that tables are changing. i get the feeling most understand they are dead men walking, not to say the free syrian army is going to be good-- because they certainly won't be, as islamist filth replacing baathist filth, but it is good to see these baathi rodents on the run...not even being able to use their own airport. dark days ahead folks.

What's next... partitioning Syria into weak sections each protected by religious militias and foreign entities?
