Jumblat: No One Can Replace Hariri, 1559 Can't be Implemented

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat has noted that “very special circumstances” have pushed ex-PM Saad Hariri to announce the suspension of his political activity, noting that the U.N. Security Council Resolution 1559 “cannot be implemented.”

Reminiscing the era that followed ex-PM Rafik Hariri’s assassination, Jumblat told MTV: “We continued back then with Saad Hariri and March 14 and then we scattered.”

“Today the situation has become worse, because the Arab and international situation is worse, but we will continue the confrontation with the allied forces in the least level of peaceful protest,” the PSP leader added, in a live interview.

“Hariri has very special circumstances that I will not talk about,” he said.

Warning that Hariri’s absence will “leave a vacuum in the Arab Sunni arena that no one can fill,” Jumblat said “we will see fragmentation in Beirut, Tripoli and Sidon.”

Hariri “had prevented any descent into polarization or civil war,” the PSP leader added.

Asked about the Kuwaiti paper presented to Lebanon, which contained Gulf, Arab and international demands, Jumblat noted that “it includes Resolution 1559 which cannot be implemented and will not be implemented.”

He also lamented “the Arab abandonment of Lebanon due to Hizbullah’s attack on the Arabs.”

The country is already polarized.

1559 can't be implemented because you and Saad and others kept giving in to settlements with the opposition that's is armed to teeth. You shared governments with them while you won the majority in both 2005 and 2009 elections. So it's your own doing.

Also everyone knows in Lebanon, the arabs and the world that 1559 means to get rid of the Mullahs regime in Tehran, that why it can't be implemented in Lebanon.

Way time for Jumblatt, Frangieh, Berri and others to do like Saad. Anyone not working to liberate Lebanon from Iranian occupation is a traitor. Any compromise leaving one Iranian rocket on Lebanese soil is a kiss of death to Lebanon's freedom, independence, justice and prosperity. HizbIran cost to Lebanon is in the hundreds of billion not to mention Lebanon's reputation and institutions. No recovery is possible with these thugs running the Country via intimidation and Useful Idiots.

LOL, Hezbollah and Israel are 2 sides of the same coin. They need each other to keep justifying their policy of intimidation and destruction. HizbIran did not liberate the South but is occupying South Lebanon to make it and its people human shields to Iran Revolutionary Guard rockets. Imposing a backward culture foreign to Lebanese Shia culture and history. This is Sulrimany strategy and kiss of death to all Shia communities he occupied in the Arab World by force of arms, intimidation and indoctrination.
