Gunfire, strikes, and shelling in Wadi al-Hujeir, Beit Yahoun, Hadatha, and Khiam

Israeli troops opened Monday heavy machine gun fire towards the southern towns of Hadatha and El Khiam.

An overnight strike targeted Wadi al-Hujeir, while artillery shelled on Sunday night Beit Yahoun and Hadatha.

Israeli strikes on Saturday killed 11 people in southern Lebanon, in the deadliest attacks since a deal was reached in June aimed at ending hostilities.

Israel and Lebanon announced the framework agreement in June, laying out a plan for Israeli forces to withdraw from southern Lebanon in exchange for Hezbollah’s disarmament. Hezbollah has refused direct talks and wasn’t party to the U.S.-mediated deal.
