Parliament on Monday postponed legislative elections, initially due to be held in May, by two years, according to a statement from the parliament speaker, due to the war between Israel and Iran-backed group Hezbollah.

Israel's first responders said one person was killed by shrapnel as several blasts rocked central Israel Monday, shortly after the military reported detecting new missiles launched from Iran.
"After performing resuscitation efforts, we had to pronounce the death of a man, approximately 40 years old," Magen David Adom said in a statement, adding that the death occurred at a construction site in central Israel.

The Israeli army started a new wave of strikes on Dahieh on Monday, after it warned it would target branches of Al-Qard al-Hassan, a financial firm linked to Hezbollah.
Two Israeli airstrikes targeted a branch of Al-Qard al-Hassan in Sfeir in Beirut's southern suburbs. Other strikes targeted branches of the firm in other areas including Haret Hreik, Beer al-Abed, and Burj al-Barajneh.

Hezbollah said early on Monday it was fighting Israeli forces who landed in eastern Lebanon by helicopter across the Syrian border, the second such operation since the outbreak of the latest conflict with Israel.
During the day, the group claimed responsibility for at least 10 attacks against Israel and its forces, including against troops that advanced into Lebanese border towns and a missile salvo on an air base in Haifa.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Sunday that they had launched missiles towards the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Bersheeva, as well as an airbase in Jordan.
"The 28th wave of the Operation Honest Promise 4 was launched by the next-generation missiles of the Guards aerospace force against the areas of Beersheva, Tel Aviv, and the Al-Azraq airbase," the Guards said in a statement, according to state TV.
