Australian Court Hearing over Johnny Depp's Dogs Adjourned

A court hearing dealing with allegations that Johnny Depp's wife, Amber Heard, illegally brought the couple's dogs to Australia was adjourned on Monday until November.

Heard was charged in July with two counts of illegally importing Pistol and Boo into Australia and one count of producing a false document. She could face heavy fines and up to 10 years in prison if convicted, though legal experts have said it's unlikely she'll face a lengthy jail term since the dogs were flown back to the U.S. before a government deadline.

Maine Man again Takes Deflated Balls Message Airborne

A Maine man who has hired a plane to fly banners protesting the NFL's four-game suspension of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady again took to the air to gloat over a judge's reversal of that suspension.

The Portland Press Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1ipTaRR ) that Richard Pate's latest message — flown over Scarborough area beaches on Saturday — taunts NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell with the message: "Roger G. Feelin a Little Deflated?"

Small Pennsylvania Town Serves up Hamburgers Galore

Where's the beef? On Saturday, it was at the Taste of Hamburg-er Festival in the eastern Pennsylvania town of Hamburg.

The town named after the German city held its 12 annual festival featuring food, music, eating competitions and children's activities. Some in attendance donned attire paying tribute to their favorite meat. There were more than 30 stands serving a variety of burgers.

Rwanda Names 24 Baby Mountain Gorillas in Annual Tradition

Youths wearing gorilla costumes and rubber boots grunted and scampered in front of Rwanda's president on Saturday during the ceremonial naming of 24 baby mountain gorillas in the African country, where the critically endangered animals live in volcano-studded forests that are visited by increasing numbers of foreign tourists.

The young gorillas, whose families are closely monitored by trackers and researchers, were in their wild habitat and not at the naming event in Kinigi, a village near the entrance to Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park. But thousands of people, including students, soldiers, villagers and diplomats, gathered there to celebrate the threatened population of mountain gorillas, whose image adorns numerous sculptures in Rwanda as well as a national currency banknote.

Philippine Monkeys Infected with Ebola not Lethal to Humans

Several monkeys at a research and breeding facility in the Philippines have been infected with an Ebola virus strain that is non-lethal to humans, health officials said Saturday.

The facility's 25 workers have been tested for possible infection but all have been found negative for the Ebola Reston variety, said Health Secretary Janette Garin.
