The Internal Security Forces freed on Saturday 10-year-old Michel al-Saqr, the son of a reputed businessman, a day after he was kidnapped, the state-run National News Agency reported.

According to NNA, Saqr was freed in the Bekaa village of Talia without the payment of a ransom.

Gunmen opened fire at security forces Friday evening in the Bekaa town of Brital after the army carried out raids in search for the abducted 10-year-old child Michel Ibrahim al-Saqr.

“A number of gunmen crossed an army checkpoint in Brital and opened fire at the troops, who responded in kind,” state-run National News Agency reported.

National Liberal Party leader MP Dory Chamoun announced on Friday suspending his party's membership in the March 14 General-Secretariat.

"We did not withdraw our membership in the General-Secretariat but we are taking a long break,” Chamoun said in a statement to MTV.

The panel drafting the ministerial policy statement on Friday adjourned its discussions to Tuesday after failing during a ninth meeting to agree on the clause related to resistance against Israel.

A suspicious vehicle was found parked near the entrance of an Internal Security Forces barracks in Beirut on Friday, reported LBCI television.

It said that the army arrested two people over their links to the incident that took place near al-Helou barracks in the Corniche al-Mazraa neighborhood.

A Beirut-based Danish journalist has been freed after being abducted in Lebanon and held hostage for almost one month, his former employer, Danish broadcaster DR, said on Friday.

"Jeppe Nybroe was abducted just under a month ago, while he was in the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon, near the Syrian border," DR said on its website.

A number of rockets fired from the Syrian side of the border landed in the Bekaa region on Friday, announced the army in a statement, in an attack that was later claimed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

The 10-year-old son of a businessman was abducted at gunpoint on Friday in the eastern city of Zahle, the state-run National News Agency reported.

According to NNA, Michel al-Saqr was heading to school with the family's driver when four masked gunmen in a Grand Cherokee SUV kidnapped him.
