The army intelligence arrested on Wednesday football player Zuhair Murad pending investigation for his suspected involvement in terrorist acts.
"The army arrested in (the al-Metn neighborhood of) Bourj Hammoud Zuhair Murad for suspecting his involvement in terrorist acts," a communique released by the military institution announced on Wednesday evening.

The army circulated on Wednesday afternoon the picture of a “dangerous” fugitive for his involvement in committing a crime.
The military institution called on “anyone who recognizes him to call the Army Command's operations center on the number 1701."

U.S. Ambassador to Lebanon David Hale condemned in the “strongest terms possible” on Wednesday the terrorist bombing in the Bir Hassan neighborhood of Beirut.
He said: “We stand firmly with the new government, the people of Lebanon, the Lebanese army, and the Internal Security Forces as they combat terrorism.”

Tension mounted in the northern city of Tripoli on Wednesday as roads were blocked and sniper activity was recorded between the neighborhoods of Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh.
"A limiter scale exchange of fire took place between Tripoli's two rival neighborhoods after a man was arrested for shooting at Jabal Mohsen resident Bassel Hatwiq,” the state-run National News Agency reported.

A number of rockets were fired from the Syrian side of the border against the Bekaa region of Brital, reported the National News Agency on Wednesday.
It said that five 107mm rockets landed in the Brital towns of Ham and Hor Taala.

Iran's Foreign Ministry on Wednesday condemned a double suicide car bombing near an Iranian cultural center in Beirut, blaming Israeli "agents" for the attack that left four people dead.
"There is no doubt that perpetrators of this terrorist act are the enemies of stability, security and unity of Lebanon," ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham said in a statement carried by the official IRNA news agency.

The Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc condemned on Wednesday the latest bombings in the southern Beirut suburb of Dahiyeh, while praising the formation of a new government.
It hoped after its weekly meeting that the “phase of the new cabinet will serve as a transition period that will end with Hizbullah's withdrawal from Syria.”

The British and U.S. embassies in Lebanon denounced on Wednesday the twin bombings that killed at least three people near an Iranian cultural center in the Bir Hassan neighborhood in Beirut's southern suburbs.
“We condemn the terrorist bombing in Bir Hassan in Beirut,” the U.S. embassy said via twitter.

Lebanese officials strongly denounced on Wednesday the double suicide attack that targeted Beirut's southern suburbs, which killed at least four people and injured 100 others and was claimed by al-Qaida affiliated Abdullah Azzam Brigades.
President Michel Suleiman condemned the attack, saying: “There can be no salvation from terrorism except through complete solidarity among the people regardless of their political affiliations.”

Six people were killed on Wednesday in two suicide bombings that went off near an Iranian cultural center in Beirut's southern suburbs, an attack claimed by the al-Qaida linked Abdullah Azzam Brigades.
The Health Ministry said six people died and over 129 were injured in what the Lebanese army stated were two simultaneous suicide bombings at around 9:25 am in the Bir Hassan neighborhood in locations with a distance of only 100 meters from each other.
