A Lebanese delegation on Sunday delivered a letter from Speaker Nabih Berri to his Libyan counterpart Nouri Abusahmain, in which the Lebanese leader called for “activating cooperation in the case of the abduction of Imam Moussa al-Sadr and his two companions.”
The delegation, which was led by Liberation and Development bloc MP Ayyoub Hmayyed, met in the Libyan capital with Abusahmain and a number of ministers and top officials, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam on Sunday held talks with Speaker Nabih Berri, caretaker Energy Minister Jebran Bassil and Hizbullah secretary-general's political assistant Hussein Khalil as part of consultations aimed at resolving the cabinet formation deadlock.
The PM-designate held separate talks with Khalil and Bassil at his Musaitbeh residence before heading to Ain al-Tineh for talks with Berri.

President Michel Suleiman on Sunday stressed that “it is necessary to put the national interest above all else and resort to the dialogue approach,” urging the Lebanese to “draw lessons from what's happening around them.”
“Political leaders in particular must pay attention to the risks and threats the country is facing and must therefore act according to the national interest,” Suleiman said in a statement.

The Lebanese army said Sunday that more than 25 kilograms of explosives, rockets and grenades were used in the suicide bombing that targeted the northeastern town of Hermel a day earlier.
The army said in a communique that the military experts, who inspected the site of Saturday's explosion, concluded that the vehicle used for the bombing contained 25-30 kilograms of explosives, rockets and hand grenades.

Caretaker Premier Najib Miqati urged on Sunday the Swiss president to back the fund that the Lebanese government has established to support the Lebanese economy as it confronts the burden of Syrian refugees.
During a meeting with President Didier Burkhalter on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, Miqati called on "the Swiss Confederation to back the funding process of the trust fund that the Lebanese government has set up to help the Lebanese economy confront the repercussions of the crisis of Syrian refugees.”

Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi held on Sunday the bickering politicians responsible for the deadly bombings targeting Lebanese cities and towns and hoped that God would enlighten their minds.
In his sermon during mass he celebrated in Bkirki, al-Rahi said: “We hold the political parties and all those refusing reconciliation and obstructing the cabinet formation responsible for the ongoing explosions.”

The relatives of a Palestinian man shot dead in the southern refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh blocked on Sunday main roads to protest his murder, the state-run National News Agency reported on Sunday.
NNA said Wissam Abul Kel, a member of Fatah, died after masked men shot him near the camp's grocery market.

One person was killed and another injured in gunbattles that rocked the northern city of Tripoli on Saturday night, the state-run National News Agency reported.
NNA said Sunday that Omar Hmaidan succumbed to his injures, while another person from the Habib family was wounded in the clashes that pitted rival families in the city's internal markets.

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel has warned that all politicians in Lebanon were under the threat of being targeted in assassination attempts.
In remarks to pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat published on Sunday, Charbel said: “Security forces are taking measures in coordination with several personalities, who are threatened to be assassinated in Lebanon, including caretaker PM Najib Miqati.”

The United Nations has urged Lebanon's feuding factions to refrain from getting involved in Syria's crisis after a suicide car bomb left several people dead near the border Saturday.
The explosion happened at a petrol station in Hermel, a stronghold of Hizbullah.
