Report: Paris Asks for Copy of Nasrallah Speech on 'Power Triangle'

The French embassy in Beirut has reportedly asked for a copy of a speech made last week by Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who accused Paris of suggesting a “power triangle” in Lebanon.

An Nahar newspaper said Monday that the mission contacted Hizbullah official Ammar al-Moussawi to ask for the copy of the official document after Nasrallah mentioned the division of power among Sunnis, Shiites and Christians.

900 Parachutists Fill Skies over Normandy to Mark D-Day Landings

Nearly 900 European and American military parachutists filled the skies above Normandy on Sunday to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings.

A large crowd watched as parachutists from France, the United States, Germany, Belgium, Britain, Poland, the Czech Republic and Italy jumped over the town of Sainte-Mere-Eglise, which played a major part in the Normandy landings during World War II.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry Saturday feted the 1944 liberation of a Breton village linked to his family and paid tribute to his country's "eternal" ties with France.

Kerry joined his first cousin Brice Lalonde, a former Green Party candidate for the French presidency and ex-mayor of Saint-Briac-sur-Mer, in paying respects to three U.S. soldiers who died on June 15, 1944 during the battle to free the wealthy seaside resort.
