A French diplomat who allegedly struck an Israeli policeman in a confrontation in the West Bank is returning home by agreement between the two governments, an Israeli official said Friday.
"She's going to be going home," the foreign ministry official told Agence France Presse, referring to Marion Fesneau-Castaing, who had been serving at the French consulate-general in Jerusalem.

Valls has triggered an outcry from human rights groups, the European Commission and some of his government colleagues by saying any Roma not working should be "delivered back to the borders", describing their way of life as "extremely different from ours," and claiming they will never integrate into French society.

French President Francois Hollande urged Iran Tuesday to make "concrete gestures" on its disputed nuclear program as he met Tehran's new leader.
"France expects Iran to make concrete gestures to show that it renounces its military nuclear program, even if it has a right to a civilian program," Hollande told the U.N. General Assembly.

Two Britons and three Italians were charged Tuesday with smuggling 1.3 tons of cocaine worth an estimated 200 million euros ($270m) into Paris on an Air France flight, a judicial source said.

French President Francois Hollande said Tuesday the U.N. Security Council had to make a threat of eventual "coercive" measures against Syria if it does not hand over its chemical weapons.
Hollande told the U.N. General Assembly that a resolution being discussed must "foresee coercive measures" under Chapter VII of the U.N. Charter and for those responsible for chemical weapon attacks in Syria to be "held accountable in the justice system."
