The World Health Organization on Wednesday warned all governments to "take action" over the SARS-like virus spreading from China that has killed 132 people and infected around 6,000 others.

The Lebanon Office of the World Health Organization announced Wednesday in a statement that there are "no Coronavirus cases in Lebanon," noting that the Ministry of Public Health is “closely monitoring the situation for the early detection of any Coronavirus infection, in line with the international health regulations of 2005."
"With the support of the WHO office in Lebanon, the Ministry of Public Health is exerting intensive efforts and working closely to increase preparedness and precautionary measures and to monitor the situation so as to reduce the risk of Coronavirus finding its way into the country, knowing that this global issue is rapidly developing," the statement said.

Swedish furniture giant Ikea said Wednesday it had temporarily closed half of its 30 stores in mainland China until further notice amid concerns over the deadly new coronavirus.

Boeing CEO David Calhoun said on Wednesday he was "confident" China could contain a viral outbreak that has prompted airlines to cancel flights and governments to warn against travel to the country.

The United Arab Emirates announced Wednesday its first case of the new coronavirus, in a family from Wuhan, in what is thought to be the first confirmed case in the Middle East.
"The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention announced a case of the new coronavirus affecting people from one family coming from the city of Wuhan in China," the state news agency WAM reported, without saying how many were infected.

China has enacted extraordinary measures to contain the spread of a new coronavirus that has killed more than 130 people, infected thousands and reached some 15 countries.

British Airways on Wednesday said it had suspended all its flights to and from China owing to the deadly coronavirus.
"We have suspended all flights to and from mainland China with immediate effect following advice from the (UK) Foreign Office against all but essential travel," BA said in a brief statement.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Tuesday the country was waging a serious fight against the "demon" coronavirus outbreak and pledged transparency in the government's efforts to contain the disease.

Thousands of foreigners are among millions of people stuck in the central Chinese city of Wuhan as the country struggles to get to grips with the spread of a SARS-like virus which has claimed 106 lives nationwide.
These are the plans so far by foreign governments to evacuate their citizens from the epicenter of the outbreak.

It has not been shown that the new coronavirus spreading in China and other parts of the world can be transferred through items bought online from China, media reports said.
“There is no evidence this is a risk… Cold viruses tend to survive less than 24 hours outside the human body,” the BBC has reported.
