Multiple small bomb blasts hit the historic Bodh Gaya Buddhist temple complex in eastern India on Sunday, wounding two monks, police said, but the temple itself was not damaged.
Buddhists from all over the world visit the site in Bihar state, which is believed to house the tree under which the Buddha reached enlightenment in 531 BC.

The Chinese and Indian defense chiefs agreed Saturday to strengthen "peace and tranquility" along their frontier, state media reported, as the countries work to keep tensions in a disputed border area in check.

A group of more than 50 Maoist guerrillas ambushed a police patrol in eastern India on Tuesday, killing the district police chief and four others, officials said.
The rebels opened fire on vehicles carrying police Superintendent Amarjeet Balihar in the Dumka district of Jharkhand, an impoverished and densely forested state home to a large Maoist movement.

Soldiers shot dead a 17-year-old man late Saturday during a military operation to hunt for suspected militants in Markondal village, 25 kilometers (15.5 miles) north of the main city of Srinagar, the chief said.
