Report: Saudis Targeting Iran, Israel with Missiles

Saudi Arabia appears to be targeting regional rivals Iran and Israel with ballistic missiles from a previously undisclosed desert base, a British-based defense analysis group said Thursday.

Satellite images show launch pads with some markings pointed towards potential Iranian targets and others towards possible locations in Israel, IHS Jane's Intelligence Review said.

A second "Prisoner X" who is being held in top-secret conditions in an Israeli jail has been detained in total isolation for many years, the Israeli media reported on Thursday.

The prisoner, whose identity has not been revealed even to the guards, is locked in a high security cell with no windows in Ayalon prison near Tel Aviv, reports said, adding that he is only allowed a brief walk alone in a courtyard surrounded by a wall.

Greek Plane Makes Emergency Landing in Tel Aviv

A Greek charter plane made an emergency landing at Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion airport on Thursday after the pilot had sent out a distress signal, an airport official told Agence France Presse.

"The airport was placed on a state of alert after receiving a distress message about a technical problem but the aircraft landed without incident," the official said.

Israeli police on Tuesday rescued an ultra-Orthodox soldier who was attacked by a group of his coreligionists in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood, a spokesman said.

Israel's Livni to Visit Moscow 'over Syria S-300 Plans'

Israeli Justice Minister Tzipi Livni was due in Moscow on Tuesday for talks over Russia's plans to supply S-300 anti-aircraft missiles to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad, army radio said.

Report: Israel Urges U.S. Not to Freeze Egypt Aid

Israel has urged Washington not to suspend its annual $1.3 billion in aid to Cairo in the wake of the ouster of Egyptian president Mohammed Morsi by the military, press reports said on Tuesday.

Under U.S. law, all military and economic aid must be suspended to any country where the government is overthrown by the military, although Washington has not yet determined whether it considers the June 30 removal of Morsi was actually a coup -- a claim made by the Muslim Brotherhood, to which the ousted president belongs.
