Israel said it was time for world powers to adopt a "firmer stand" with Iran on its controversial nuclear program after their latest round of negotiations closed on Saturday without any breakthrough.
"It is time for the world to take a firmer stand and tell the Iranians in no uncertain terms that the masquerade of negotiations is about to end," Strategic Affairs and Intelligence Minister Yuval Steinitz said.

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas has demanded that Israel's prime minister present a map for a future Palestinian state before any peace talks can resume, an aide said on Friday.
Abbas "wants to know, through a map to be presented by Benjamin Netanyahu to (U.S. Secretary of State John) Kerry, what the prime minister's view of a two-state solution would be, especially the borders," political adviser Nimr Hammad told Agence France Presse.

President Michel Suleiman urged the international community on Thursday to pressure Israel into ending its threats against Lebanon and slammed the Jewish state for violating U.N. Security Council resolution 1701.

Israel's police deployed reinforcements in Jerusalem on Friday, fearing days of violent protests in the West Bank could spread to the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound after weekly Muslim prayers.

Israel's government on Friday strenuously denied it had any link to an arms-laden ship that Egypt said its navy seized as it sailed from the Israeli port of Eilat to Togo in West Africa.
"Nobody in Israel knows anything about this ship. It's clear that it did not come from Eilat or any other Israeli port," foreign ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor told Agence France Presse.

Egypt's navy on Thursday seized a weapons-laden ship and detained its crew who had set off from the Israeli port of Eilat en route to the African country of Togo, security officials said.
Officials the ship, "which was flying the flag of an African country," was intercepted after it strayed into Egyptian territorial waters.

Israeli troops shot dead two Palestinian youths during a West Bank clash, officials said Thursday, heightening tension ahead of the funeral of a prisoner who died in Israel.
The clashes late on Wednesday in the two of Tulkarem, in the northern West Bank, came after a day of violent protests across the West Bank, where a general strike was called after the death Tuesday of life prisoner Maisara Abu Hamdiyeh in an Israeli jail.

The Bulgarian Charge d'Affaires in Lebanon, Plamen Tzolov, said his government was still waiting for the cooperation of the Lebanese authorities on the investigation into the bus bombing on Israeli tourists last year.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday expressed concern ahead of the next round of talks between Iran and the international community over Tehran's controversial nuclear program.
"This model of a country talking, but at the same time developing nuclear weapons; threatening and at the same time developing nuclear weapons and threatening the use of nuclear weapons, we cannot allow this to happen in Iran," a statement from Netanyahu's office cited him as saying.
