Israel Cops Face Jail for Leaving Ill Palestinian to Die

An Israeli court on Monday found two policemen guilty of negligent homicide after they dumped an injured Palestinian prisoner at the side of a West Bank road and left him to die, legal documents showed.

"By setting down the deceased in the condition and under the circumstances which they did, the accused breached their duty of care toward the deceased," Jerusalem magistrate Haim Liran wrote in his ruling, a copy of which was obtained by Agence France Presse.

U.S. Official in Israel after Iran Nuclear Talks

The head of the U.S. delegation to nuclear talks with Iran arrived in Israel on Friday to brief officials after a meeting in Baghdad that achieved little other than arranging more talks.

Guards Deployed in Tel Aviv after Race Riots

A contingent of border guards has been sent in to help maintain law and order in Tel Aviv neighborhoods rocked by race riots, a police spokesman said on Friday.

Iran Media See 'Very Low' Chance of Further Nuclear Talks

Iranian media on Thursday said the chances of tottering talks with world powers continuing after the current Baghdad negotiations are "very low," with several outlets saying Iran had essentially been handed Israeli demands.
