President Michel Aoun wants the national dialogue conference to be held before the end of the month should his upcoming bilateral meetings manage to convince a number of parties, al-Joumhouria newspaper reported on Monday.
As of Tuesday, the President will hold separate meetings with a representative of the Development and Liberation bloc, Loyalty to Resistance bloc head MP Mohammed Raad, Marada Movement chief Suleiman Franjieh, Mount Lebanon Guarantee bloc head MP Talal Arslan and Tashnag bloc chief MP Hagop Pakradounian, the daily quoted informed sources in Baabda as saying.

Free Patriotic Movement MP Asaad Dergham said that “Amal and Hizbullah are committing a crime against the Lebanese.”
Dergham stated, on al-Jadeed TV, that the Cabinet not convening is a “crime.”

“The Cabinet won’t convene anytime soon,” Shiite Duo sources said, adding that the statement Prime Minister Najib Miqati made from Baabda about an imminent Cabinet session is “only a wish.”
The Duo sources told Nidaa al-Watan newspaper, in remarks published Monday, that Miqati will not call for a Cabinet session without the Shiite approval, and “no consensus has been reached yet.”
