A meeting is expected to take place between Speaker Nabih Berri and head of al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc Fouad Saniora over the outcome of the speaker's latest visit to Iran,media reports said on Saturday.
The meeting between the two men is “expected to take place soon,” An-Nahar daily said.

Speaker Nabih Berri stressed on Thursday that any consensus between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia would reflect Lebanon positively, denying that he was asked to mediate between the two countries.
“The Iranian leadership is wise and knows what it wants and what benefits its people and the region,” Berri said in comments published in local newspapers.

Caretaker Energy Minister Jebran Bassil said on Wednesday that he will eventually kick off the oil and gas tenders even without the caretaker cabinet's approval of the two decrees essential to award the oil blocks for oil companies.
However, Bassil didn't rule out in comments published in As Safir newspaper that the tenders, which are set for January 10, 2014, might be postponed for the third time if the oil companies failed to present their documents.

Israel installed a new spying station in Mount Hermon (Jabal al-Sheikh), near the border with Lebanon, As Safir newspaper reported on Wednesday.
According to the newspaper, the espionage station includes advanced equipment that enable Israel to monitor Hasbaya, Arqoub, Rashaya, the Bekaa and several areas in eastern Lebanon mountain range.

Speaking to reporters at an airport in the Iranian capital, Berri thanked his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani for inviting him to visit the Islamic republic, hoping his talks there will “strengthen relations between the two countries, especially that this visit comes amid a very delicate period.”

Speaker Nabih Berri has expressed disappointment that one of the suicide bombers that attacked the Iranian embassy in Beirut on Tuesday was from southern Lebanon.
In remarks to An Nahar daily published on Sunday, officials quoted Berri as saying that he had hoped the two bombers would not be Lebanese to avoid widening the differences between the rival parties.

Speaker Nabih Berri is considering an “urgent” visit to Iranian capital Tehran in an attempt to bridge the gap between Lebanese foes, al-Liwaa newspaper reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper quoted a lawmaker as saying that the speaker is convinced that the political crisis in Lebanon requires a “radical treatment,” in particular, after the twin suicide attack that targeted the Iranian embassy in Hizbullah's stronghold of Bir Hassan.
