Speaker Nabih Berri expressed fear on Tuesday that those who are behind the deadly blasts that rocked the northern city of Tripoli and Beirut's southern suburbs will continue their attempts to embroil Muslims in sedition.
“The current security situation is worrisome and the political situation isn't any better,” Berri said in comments published in As Safir newspaper.

Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam said on Monday that contacts are ongoing with the March 8 coalition, in particular with Speaker Nabih Berri and PSP chief MP Walid Jumblat.
Sources close to Salam hailed in comments published in local newspapers his latest meeting with President Michel Suleiman, considering that it was a new push to the ongoing consultation over the formation of the cabinet process.

Speaker Nabih Berri considered on Monday that the political and security deterioration in the country must reach an end, pointing out that he will decide if he will propose an initiative to resolve the deadlock in light of the developments.
“I hope that the moving explosions caused the necessary shock that would make everyone revise their stances,” Berri said in comments published in As Safir newspaper.

A military expert did not find any explosives in a suspicious flower vase near the NBN television station of Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut, the state-run National News Agency reported Monday.
NNA said the vase had dirt in it in addition to the thinner solvent.

AMAL Movement announced on Saturday postponing a mass rally that was to be held in the southern Nabatiyeh province to mark the 35th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Moussa Sadr and his two companions.
"We have decided to postpone the commemoration of the disappearance of Sadr and his companions and the new date for the event will be announced later,” a statement released by AMAL said following an urgent meeting for the party's leadership committee, which was presided over by Speaker Nabih Berri.

According to al-Akhbar newspaper published on Saturday, the warnings come in light of security information obtained by security agencies that terrorists will target the anniversary.

Speaker Nabih Berri stated on Friday that “the same terrorist and criminal hands” attacked the northern city of Tripoli days after “they” killed dozens of people in Beirut's southern suburbs.
"Tripoli's twin blasts are the work of the same killers who orchestrated the Dahieh bombing,” Berri said in a released statement.

Speaker Nabih Berri warned on Wednesday of the dangers of involving Lebanon in ethnic divisions, assuring that any such plots will not be fruitful, reported the state-run National News Agency.
“Attempts to involve Lebanon in ethnic divisions are extremely dangerous. Lebanon is not another Iraq and such plots will not pass,” said Berri during the weekly meeting with MPs.

Speaker Nabih Berri reiterated on Wednesday that he has nothing new to add over the cabinet impasse, pointing out that the security situation has reached a “critical stage.”
“I have suggested all my proposals and initiatives but they rejected them, I am waiting for the others now to present me with what they have,” Berri said in comment published in al-Joumhouria newspaper.

A parliamentary session dedicated to tackling a number of draft-laws was postponed on Tuesday over a lack of quorum.
MTV reported that the session was automatically postponed after Speaker Nabih Berri did not even attend the meeting.
