Israeli forces went briefly on high alert near the border with Lebanon on Wednesday evening, closing roads and asking residents to stay indoors, following reports of a suspected infiltration by a number of militants.
“After sending troops to the area, the IDF (Israeli army) Spokesman announced no infiltration has occurred, but asked that residents remained in their homes,” the website of Israel's Yediot Ahronot newspaper reported.

Hizbullah held funerals Wednesday for two of its fighters who were killed Sunday in an unprecedented Israeli airstrike on the Syrian region of Quneitra.
Coincidence doubled the grief in the southern town of Ghaziyeh, where a joint funeral was held for the slain young fighter Abbas Hijazi, aka Sayyed Jawad, and his father who died in coma only a few hours after the lethal Israeli strike. Hizbullah's Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of its slain former military commander, was laid to rest on Monday a day after an Israeli strike in Syria that killed six of the party's fighters.
The raid, near Quneitra on the Syrian-controlled side of the Golan Heights, enraged the group's supporters, but analysts said Hizbullah would seek to avoid a major escalation with Israel.

Several Hizbullah fighters were killed Sunday in an Israeli airstrike on the Quneitra region in the Syrian sector of the Golan Heights.
“The Israeli enemy's helicopters fired missiles at a group of Hizbullah fighters who were inspecting the town of Mazraat al-Amal in the Syrian Quneitra region,” Hizbullah's media department announced in a statement.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea on Wednesday said his party's hand is extended for an “honorable” dialogue with the Free Patriotic Movement, as he reminded that he is still a “presidential candidate.”
“We did not fight during the war to surrender during peace times. We are people who fight honorably and engage in dialogue honorably,” said Geagea at a Maarab ceremony for handing membership cards to LF members.

The video shows the two men apparently being shot dead by the child after being interrogated on camera about their alleged attempts to infiltrate IS in Syria.

U.S. Central Command suspended its Twitter page on Monday after a group declaring sympathy for Islamic State jihadists hacked its social media accounts and posted internal documents.
In an embarrassing propaganda jab at the American military, a black-and-white banner with the image of a hooded fighter and the words "CyberCaliphate" and "I love you ISIS" replaced Central Command's standard Twitter banner.
